Sher Singh Rana:-)
A man who brought the pride of Indians back to the nation
In 2004, Rana had escaped from Tihar Jail and went to Afghanistan to bring back the relics of Prithvi Raj III, commonly known as Prithviraj Chauhan (1149-1192 CE), a king of the Hindu Chauhan dynasty, who ruled the kingdoms of Ajmer and Delhi in northern India during the latter half of the 12th century.
Rana told police that he got a fake passport from Ranchi and flew to Afghanistan on a student visa in earlu 2005 – nearly 10 months after he escaped the Tihar Jail.
He stayed in Afghanistan for three months and looked aggressively for the king’s “grave.” Surprisingly, he had no idea about where was it located.
However, he soon found the place to be Ghazni. He had claimed that at a place called Deak, a small village on the outskirts of Ghazni, lies the tomb of Muhammad Ghori, and a few meters away was the Prithviraj Chauhan’s tomb.
To visit the grave of Ghauri, people first need to step on Prithviraj Chauhan’s grave. As he killed Ghauri while showing his skills of “ shabd bhedibaan” words piercing arrow. So he's grave was made in such a way that before visiting the grave of Ghauri the person has to jump on the rock under which Prithviraj chauhan was burried
In order to fulfil his mission, he mingled with the locals and convinced them that he had come from Pakistan to restore Ghori’s tomb. However, he dug Chauhan’s grave and collected sand from it. He even videotaped his work.
